La situazione precipita: il padrone di casa pretende l’affitto arretrato e non avendolo ricevuto lo sfratta; la polizia lo convoca per riscuotere le multe non pagate e, per verificare che l’assegno staccato sia coperto, lo trattiene una notte in prigione. Giunto comunque in tempo al colloquio, nonostante gli abiti sdruciti e sporchi, Chris ottiene il posto: la situazione apparentemente non migliora, perché Chris durante lo stage non percepirà lo stipendio.
